My Story

From India to Calgary — the long way around.

I grew up in India, obsessed with technology from a young age — computers, gadgets, gaming, anything with a screen. I was the kid who took things apart to see how they worked. When it came time for college, I studied accounting. I was terrible at it. Not because I couldn't learn it, but because it wasn't what I was meant to do. That became obvious pretty quickly.

In 2012, I got my first real break — a remote gig as a virtual assistant for a major real estate agent based in Phoenix, Arizona. It wasn't glamorous, but it changed everything. It was my first taste of working online, working independently, and solving real business problems for real clients. I was hooked.

From there, I taught myself. SEO, web design, UX, digital marketing — one skill at a time, one project at a time. I took on every gig I could find, learned from each one, and kept pushing into bigger and more technical work. In 2018, I earned my post-graduate degree in Digital Marketing from Gujarat Technological University — but by that point, the self-learning had already taken me further than any classroom could.

The Evolution

From SEO projects to building software.

I spent five years deep in SEO — running campaigns, auditing sites, and learning what actually moves the needle for businesses online. That work gave me a sharp eye for user experience: I could look at any website or software product and immediately spot the gaps — the friction points, the missed conversion opportunities, the places where users were getting lost or giving up.

In 2021, I moved to Canada to be with my partner. That same year, I made the jump into the software industry — transitioning from marketing into managing full product and project builds. It was a natural evolution. I'd spent years understanding what makes digital products work from the user's perspective. Now I was building them from the ground up.

I chose Calgary for the same reason I choose everything — intentionally. The city is peaceful, uncrowded, close to the mountains. I love nature, I love skiing, and I wanted to build a life and a business somewhere that didn't feel like a grind just to exist. Calgary gave me that, along with a growing tech scene and industries — energy, construction, real estate — that genuinely need better digital tools.

Why Staunch

Built for the long run.

I incorporated Staunch Digital Marketing Ltd. in August 2024 because I wanted to do this properly. Not as a freelancer picking up side gigs. Not as someone passing through. I wanted to plant a flag in Calgary and build something that lasts — a real company that local businesses can rely on year after year.

The name says it all. Staunch means unwavering, loyal, dependable. That's how I approach every project. When you work with me, you're not getting handed off to a junior developer or lost in a queue. I'm personally involved in every detail — from the initial conversation to the final deployment. Your project gets my full attention because my reputation is attached to every single thing that ships.
